Your Guide to Snap Sack
1) Prepare your frame
- Keep only the bottle(s) you wish to use in their cages.
-For Wedge and Full Frame Sacks, remove the bottles and cages where the bag will be. Place the bolts in the holes sticking out so I can see them
-Leave any other bags you wish to run on the bike.
2) Tape Measure or yard stick
Hold a tape measure or yard stick to your bike.
-It can be in any orientation (vertical, horizontal, caddy corner)
-Try not to cover up the frame tubes, bottle bosses, cable routing, or anything else that may be needed to make your template
-At least 24" exposed. Even if that means it hangs over the edge of the frame
3) Get ready for the picture
STAND WAY BACK! At least 15 feet!! Farther the better!!!
-Squat down and align the camera as straight on the bike as possible.
-You're in the right place when the rear triangle is aligned (pink)
-Zoom in to make the tape measure clearer if needed (DO NOT USE WIDE ANGLE MODE)
4) Check your picture
-Open the picture on your phone (or computer).
-Check to be sure the chainstays and seat stays are aligned (pink in the picture below)
-Check to be sure the tape measure is visible. The clearer the better but at a bare minimum, I need to be able to see the big lines.
5) Both sides, please
I promise the other side will go MUCH faster!
Please do this for the drive side and the non drive side.
The tape measure/yard stick can be in a different orientation than the other side
Tips/troubleshooting
I love bikes and cool details but for these purposes, pretty please with sugar on top
-Do not send me up close pictures. I only need the two pictures as described above.
I cant see the tape measure (clearly)
-Try moving into the shade (not night). The reflection from direct sunlight makes it next to impossible to see sometimes.
-Use a tape measure/yard stick with bigger numbers and lines
Alignment issues
- a good trick is to move back, up, down, left, right until the rear triangle covers the other side. In other words, it will appear as one set of tubes in a picture
